Panchgani Tableland Ecological Film and Biodiversity Booklet for Environmental Awareness
Panchgani Tableland being a famous tourist destination is visited by more than two lakh tourists every year. Livelihood of the local people is dependent on nature tourism. However, looking at the degradation of the area, there is an urgent need to generate awareness about this unique ecosystem and promote responsible tourism. RANWA was assigned a task by Panchgani Hill Station Municipal Council to develop a short film documenting ecological and environmental significance of the pristine ecosystem of Panchgani Tableland. The film along with a ‘Coffee Table Booklet’ mainly focusing on the unique geography, floral and faunal aspect of the plateau and tourist spots has formed an excellent tool for promoting responsible eco-tourism and local people can use for conducting guide nature trails.
